Custom Software for NZ Businesses

Software that fits
how your business works.

Job systems, quoting tools, client portals, staff apps and dashboards, built around the way you already run instead of the other way round. Fixed price, agreed before we start.

Talk to us about your project

The business has outgrown the spreadsheet.

It usually starts small. A spreadsheet for jobs, a paper form for the guys on site, a separate app for quotes, and Xero for invoices. It works, until the business grows and someone spends half their week copying the same details from one place to another, chasing paperwork, and fixing the mistakes that creep in.

Off-the-shelf software rarely fixes it. You pay for features you never use, miss the one thing you actually need, and end up bending your process around the product. We build software around how you already work, connect it to the tools you want to keep, and look after it once it's running.

CartageCore: the system a Hawke's Bay transport firm runs on.

A transport and civil company was running dozens of trucks and machines across spreadsheets and systems that didn't talk to each other. We built one system for the whole operation:

Jobs
Booked, priced and dispatched in one place, with rates worked out automatically
App
A phone app for drivers: their day's work and pre-start checks
Xero
Invoices pushed straight to Xero, with no re-keying
$ / truck
Profit per truck from fuel, wages, road user charges and telematics

1

Scope it together

We sit down with you and the people who'll use it, map how the work really flows, and agree what gets built. You get a fixed price before anything starts.

2

We build it

You see working versions as we go, not a big reveal at the end. Nothing goes live until you've tried it and signed it off.

3

We look after it

We host it, keep it secure and fix anything that comes up. As the business changes, we add to it.

Custom software, in plain English.

I'm not technical at all. Is this for me?
Yes. Most of our clients aren't technical. You tell us how the business runs and where it hurts; we work out the software, build it and explain it in plain language. You never need to touch code.
What kind of software can you build?
Job and booking systems, quoting and pricing tools, client portals, staff and driver apps for the phone, dashboards and reports, and connections between the tools you already use. Our biggest build is CartageCore, the system a Hawke's Bay transport company runs its jobs, drivers, pricing and invoicing on every day.
How much does custom software cost?
Connecting your existing systems starts from $750. Custom software starts from $1,500 and grows with the scope. We always scope it with you first and give you a fixed price, so there are no open-ended hourly bills.
Can it work with Xero and the tools we already use?
Usually, yes. Most modern business tools can be connected, and we've built integrations with Xero, Google and industry-specific systems. Tell us what you use and we'll tell you straight whether it can be connected.
Why not just buy something off the shelf?
If an off-the-shelf product fits, we'll tell you to buy it. Custom makes sense when you're paying for features you don't use, bending your process around the software, or copying the same information between three systems. Software built around how you already work gets used, and it can grow as you do.
What happens after it's built?
We host it, keep it secure and updated, and fix anything that comes up. As the business changes, we add to it. You deal with the same person who built it.
